Our story

Our story

Our story began in our boutique wellness studio in Brooklyn, NY. As a small but bustling health and fitness hub, we helped our members optimize their wellbeing, with a focus on yoga, nutrition, and chiropractic care. Then the pandemic hit and everything changed…

COVID-19 not only uncovered the nation’s underlying health crisis but also put the spotlight on the extreme health disparities in the United States. Did you know that members of the African American community were twice as likely to die from the virus? 

Coronavirus hit the Black community the hardest, and when the death toll skyrocketed, we realized that we needed to help people on a much larger scale by extending our expertise to reach diverse communities far and wide. 

We believe that many of these deaths could have been avoided if people were equipped with the right tools to build a robust immune system and improve aspects of their health that are often neglected, including sleep, personalized nutrition, nature exposure, and the right forms of exercise. We also know that building greater resilience is not enough to solve this problem and we need to work toward full scale structural change. It’s now our goal to add 1 million healthy years to American lives with the hope of closing the racial health gap along the way. We believe that health is science (and vice versa). There’s a scientific method for optimizing all aspects of wellbeing — from getting a good night’s sleep and customizing your diet, to managing the stressors of modern-day life and moving in a way that mitigates aging. Not only can we analyze personal data to transform our lifestyle, but we can also examine the results from the latest breakthrough studies to boost our own welfare.


Everything you’ll learn with an Align/WELL membership is based on accurate and up-to-date scientific studies, gathered by Dr. Brown over the course of 30+ years. As an established wellness educator who focuses on human longevity, he breaks down complex medical research and transforms it into life-prolonging guidance. 


We’ll explore a new theme each month, delving into areas usually overlooked by the mainstream wellness industry or overshadowed by misinformation about health. This will enable you to cut through the noise and make the most effective and enduring changes to your lifestyle so you can defy the effects of aging.
